After escaping the Oxford bubble for a week, I’ve finally caught up on Grey’s. I thought I would miss Izzie, but honestly I don’t at all. I think Katherine Heigl’s request to get out of her contract was probably a good thing.

I thought the latest episode (“Push”) was one of the best I’ve seen in a while and was glad to see that Richard is finally getting back to his old self. The tension between him and Derek was getting to be a little too much — almost to the point of ridiculousness. But we all knew Derek was going to eventually take over as chief. It was only a matter of time,  considering the writers have been teasing us with that for what seems like forever.

I’ve been somewhat disappointed lately because it seems like Meredith hasn’t had much of a role in the last few episodes. I think there’s been more of a focus on the Derek/Richard feud, the Owen/Cristina/Teddy love triangle, and Mark’s personal life than on Meredith who, in the past, was the main focus of the show — she is the title character.

More later. In the meantime, I’ll be enjoying March Madness.
